Welcome Autumn! Welcome New & Familiar Friends & Families!
NEDC has a wonderful fun-filled year for all of you! We finished off our 2004-05
season with a wonderful Recital Showcase: "DREAMS 2005". New families can
probably catch a glimpse of it playing on Thursday - Saturday in the children's
waiting room.
Summer Camp was great! We loved spending the summer with many of our fantastic
students! Check out pictures from summer camp on our bulletin board in the main
waiting room. Summer Camp 2006' is in planning now! Mark it on your calendars in
July & August. Exact dates are not set in stone yet, but there will be dancing,
theater, arts & crafts, swimming & field trips!!! PLAN AHEAD & keep NEDC on the
top of your list! Trophies & T-Shirts for all participants!!!
KIDS FEST
SSUUPPEERR JOB to Angelina, Natasha, Tee, Michelle, Kim, Malaysia,
Taylar, Haley, Makayla, Brianna, Jazmine, Cadee, Safiyyah, Makenzie, Michaella,
Amanda & Alexis A. for 2 wonderful performances. We had 2 great days up at Mt.
Wachusett. Plenty of visitors stopped to comment on how wonderful the students
were. Our booth looked superb thanx to Cristin, Angelina, Andy & Nikki for the
design & set-up. We hope you all had a memorable weekend & filled up on all the
free snacks!!
COLUMBUS DAY PARADE
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9 is the
annual parade down Shrewsbury St. All participants will meet at Wells ST. off
Plantation St. (From the top half of Franklin St., heading towards Wall St, take
a left onto Plantation, at the fire station. Wells should be your 1st right)
Plantation St will be closed to the public at 11:00 so get to Wells St between
10:30 - 10:45. The Parade begins at 12:30 beginning at Flagship Bank/McDonalds.
It should end at Pat's Service Station/Washington Sq. probably by 2:00. ALL
STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO MARCH WITH NEDC. You must let us know if you are wearing
your NEDC Jacket, a navy blue shirt/sweatshirt or a bright yellow
shirt/sweatshirt, so we can pair you up in marching order. The ONLY other color
you may wear is white. You may decorate yourself in Halloween colors & designs!
Parents are invited as well, but must also wear our studio colors: Yellow, Navy
& White ONLY. Parents will march in the back of the unit & possibly hand out
NEDC info to the crowd. Babies & toddlers are welcome to walk with parents
holding hands or may be pushed in carriages. Please decorate carriages to fit
NEDC & Halloween theme if planning on marching. STUDIO SPIRIT 110%!!!!!
"DREAMS 2005" DVD
Double disc DVD's are still on sale for
$32.95. It's a great deal due to the dual disc set, professional editing,
hidden track of dress rehearsal, full menu, each dance on it's own track,
separate awards sections on both DVD's & book insert & graphic covers.

FUND-RAISERS
September:
Lollipops sure went quick! As of Wednesday, October 5, NEDC had only
12 pops left for sale! GREAT JOB to everyone who participated! Make sure to
bring in your money within 2 weeks of receiving the pops. Remember, 50% of your
sales comes off your November tuition.
October: Yankee
Candle is under way. Just about everyone has received their packet. If you have
not received one or need more order forms, please let us know now. Reminder: ALL
orders & money is due on Friday, October 21. 30% of the money you raise comes
off your tuition. Just think: sell just $100.00 of Yankee Candle products and
get 1 November class free! If you raise more than your November tuition you may
use the proceeds toward future tuition payments such as December, etc.
November: Chefco
Cookies are about to begin. All items will be in for the holidays!! Get your
packet on November 1. Again, a percentage comes off your tuition!!!
ABSENCES
& MAKE-UP CLASSES
If a child will not be in class, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call NEDC & leave a
message ahead of time. It saves the staff time in calling your home & holding up
the class waiting for the child to arrive.
Make-up classes can be done in any classes the NEDC staff circled in your info
packet you received at registration. A student does not have to make-up missed
classes, but if they want to receive perfect attendance at year end they must
take a make-up for each class missed. There have been some changes to the class
schedule, so if you have questions if a class is still available, please ask.
*****ALL TRAVELING TEAM MEMBERS MUST make-up all classes missed during the year.
All classes MUST be made up within 30 days.
SHOES & DANCEWEAR
ALL students should have proper dance attire & footwear by now,
unless you are waiting on the NEDC October order which should be in no later
than Monday, October 10. Our next shoe order for November will go out on
MONDAY, OCTOBER 31. However, NEDC is closed that day, so make sure you
order & pre-pay by Saturday, October 29. All Traveling Team members MUST
order all shoes by Wed. November 23 in order to receive them for your
performance in FIRST NIGHT WORCESTER 2006. One shoe order will go out
each month through JANUARY 2 as prices are listed on executive office door. If
you order shoes after January 2 please include $8.00 s&h per pair of shoes
ordered. HIP HOP shoes may be ordered at any time before Febuary 1, 2006. Until
you order, please send your child with a pair of good sneakers to take class in.
Please make sure all tights students are wearing to class are
footless or convertible. If tights are footless, please send them with thin
socks if they take tap. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR JEANS IN ANY CLASS!
Dance pants & tank tops are ONLY allowed in 1 Hour Hip Hop Classes & shorts are
ONLY allowed in Acrobatics!!All Hair MUST always be worn UP & off the child's
neck (bun, ponytail, braids). Careful as to what hair accessory they have on top
of their head if thay take Acro/Tumbling!

ITEMS!!!**

**Make sure you picked up NEDC's "CALENDAR OF EVENTS". It's a lilac form that
informs
you of all performances, sleepovers & parades. CHECK www.nedancecenter.com

**NOTE: 1st NEDC SLEEPOVER this season: Saturday October 29: Party, Sleepover
dinner,
October 30, Sleepover breakfast & pick-up: HALLOWEEN PARTY &/or sleepover.

**DONATIONS: NEDC asks that each family donates at least 2 items to NEDC during
the dance
season. If you can donate more we thoroughly appreciate it. You can find the

** NEDC 1st ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT: Saturday, October 22
We asked if each family could post up the white flyer located in your
registration packet at a
job or pass it along to a friend or family member who golfs. This is the FIRST
GROUP
fund-raiser NEDC is holding. Each family MUST participate in a minimum of 2
GROUP
fund-raisers. The deadline is October 14. When you have someone participate make
sure that
give your name so you are marked as completing a GROUP fund-raiser. All proceeds
go to
NEDC to help keep our costs down for the 2006 - 2007 dance season & our 2006
summer
camp. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD NOW!!!
** GROUP FUND-RAISERS: Start today with the Golf Tournament. Tag Days
(collecting *
money at grocery stores/intersections in the city) will be coming in late fall &
spring. Car *
washes occur in late spring. The only other GROUP fund-raisers planned are
window cling &
key chain sales. Start thinking now about which fund-raisers you will be
participating in. If you
have any other ideas, please let us know !!!
** PARENT COMMITTEE: NEDC NEEDS a parent committee to help with fund-raising.
You
will meet one night a month & begin a phone tree & brain storm for more ideas.
Children can
attend & play in waiting room. No babies & toddlers, unless supervised by a
sibling. Please let
us know now if you are interested. Calls will be made soon to find interested
candidates. ALL
Traveling Team members are highly encouraged to enlist one parent or grandparent
to sit on
the committee. Officers will be voted in. First meeting in early November.
